Biography of Dr. Vahida Demirovic

Dr. Vahida Demirovic, a retired psychiatrist, tried to take on some of the burdens faced by her fellow citizens in Sarajevo, during the war in Bosnia. She treated both the bereaved and the injured, helping them to build new lives and to come to terms with their losses. The book 'Race with Death', published by Ta-Ha Publishers, relates the experiences of patients she treated.
